Metallica - Kill ‘Em All free essay sample

This is Metallicas first album which was released in July 25, 1983. It was recorded in a short time, 2 weeks to be exact, and on a very small budget. The original album title was different but the studio urged them to change it. There so they changed it to what it is now. The album cover is of a shadow of a hand letting go of a bloody sledgehammer. Although this album is not as powerful as Master of Puppets or Ride the Lightning but it is still a pretty good album. It has a much faster tempo than other releases and it also has a lot more thrashier sound. That is why this album is more of an original thrash metal album. This album isnt as fast or brutal as Slayer albums but its still cool to listen too and is pure thrash album. This album has those catchy guitar riffs, insane guitar solos, great vocal singing, and great drumming. We will write a custom essay sample on Metallica Kill ‘Em All or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Now lets talk about the songs: 1. Hit the Lights- This song begins with a fade in of the guitars and then Lars, the drummer, making a drumming pattern. After that the guitarist are on speeding fret boards. They have cool guitar riffs and throughout song have many miniature solos and then they go in to the real solo. This is a great opening song and has to be one of my favorites on this album. 2. Four Horsemen- This song isnt as fast as the previous song but it has catchy guitar riffs and great solos. Though the solos are more classical solos. 3. Motorbreath- This song begins with a drum intro. The guitars dominate in this song though. 4. Jump in the Fire- This song is pretty fast though it has catchy riffs. At the end there is progressively more faster and long guitar solo that I enjoyed. 5. (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth- is a long solo but its not guitar solo its a BASS SOLO! This song shows Cliff Burtons skills in his more classical background. Also he uses heavy distortion and a Wah-Wah Pedal. The only lyrics or dialog in this song is at the beginning where Cliff states: â€Å"Base Solo, Take One† Then also in the beginning there is no drum beat though they do kick in at about the 2:40 mark. 6. Whiplash- begins with low thumping of the bass drum then the guitars kick in and add spice to the song. 7. Phantom Lord- has its ups and downs. You can barely hear the vocals because they are drowned by the guitars. This song also has a cool guitar solo. Then it slows down again after that. Then another guitar solo comes in and speeds it up again. Just like I said it has its ups and downs. 8. No Remorse- has a cool rhythm to it and is still a good part of Metallicas live shows. 9. Seek Destroy- Finally we have come to my favorite song of this album. This has that famous opening guitar lick that I love. It also has catchy vocals that just keep so energized! Also those great guitar riffs that are so repetitive. This song also has a very cool guitar solo that then ends to the original melody of this track. 10. Metal Militia- is the most insane track out of all of these because it starts out fast and just has that pure thrash sound to it. Pretty cool song So my conclusion is that this is a great album if youre a Metallica fan. Although its not as good as the other albums that I listed but if youre a metal head then you will enjoy this great album by one of the greatest thrash metal bands.

Queen Seondeok of Koreas Silla Kingdom

Queen Seondeok of Koreas Silla Kingdom Queen Seondeok ruled the Kingdom of Silla  starting in 632, marking the first time a female monarch rose to power in Korean history - but certainly not the last. Unfortunately, much of the history of her reign, which took place during Koreas Three Kingdoms period, has been lost to time, but her story lives on in legends of her beauty and even occasional clairvoyance.   Although Queen Seondeok led her kingdom in a war-torn and violent era, she was able to hold the country together and advance Silla culture while her success paved the way for future ruling queens, marking a new era in a female dominion of South Asian kingdoms. Born Into Royalty Not much is known about Queen Seondeoks early life, but it is known that she was born Princess Deokman in 606 to King Jinpyeong, the 26th king of the Silla, and his first queen Maya. Although some of Jinpyeongs royal concubines had sons, neither of his official queens produced a surviving boy. Princess Deokman was well-known for her intelligence and accomplishments, according to the surviving historical records. In fact, one story tells of a time when the Emperor Taizong of Tang China sent a sample of poppy seeds and a painting of the flowers to the Silla court and Deokman predicted the flowers in the picture would have no scent. When they bloomed, the poppies were indeed odorless. The princess explained that there were no bees or butterflies in the painting - hence her prediction that the blossoms were not fragrant. Accession to the Throne As the oldest child of a queen and a young woman of great intellectual power, Princess Deokman was selected to be her fathers successor. In Silla culture, a familys heritage was traced through both the matrilineal and patrilineal sides in the system of bone ranks  - giving high-born women more authority than in other cultures of the time. Because of this, it was not unknown for women to rule over small sections of the Silla Kingdom, but they had only ever served as regents for their sons or queens dowager - never in their own name. This changed when King Jinpyeong died in 632 and the 26-year-old Princess Deokman became the first ever outright female monarch, Queen Seondeok. Reign and Accomplishments During her fifteen years on the throne, Queen Seondeok used skillful diplomacy to form a stronger alliance with Tang China. The implicit threat of Chinese intervention helped to ward off attacks from Sillas rivals, Baekje and Goguryeo, yet the queen was not afraid to send out her army as well. In addition to external affairs, Seondeok also encouraged alliances among the leading families of Silla. She arranged marriages between the families of Taejong the Great and General Kim Yu-sin - a power bloc that would later lead Silla to unify the Korean Peninsula and end the Three Kingdoms period. The queen was interested in  Buddhism, which was fairly new to Korea at the time but had already become the state religion of Silla. As a result, she sponsored the Bunhwangsa Temple construction near Gyeongju in 634 and oversaw the completion of Yeongmyosa in 644. The  80-meter-tall Hwangnyongsa pagoda included nine stories, each of which represented one of Sillas enemies. Japan, China, Wuyue (Shanghai), Tangna, Eungnyu, Mohe (Manchuria), Danguk, Yeojeok, and Yemaek - another Manchurian population associated with the Buyeo Kingdom - were all depicted on the pagoda until Mongol invaders burned it down in 1238. Lord Bidams Revolt Near the end of her reign, Queen Seondeok faced a challenge from a Silla nobleman called Lord Bidam. Sources are sketchy, but he likely rallied supporters under the motto Women rulers cannot rule the country. The story goes that a bright falling star convinced Bidams followers that the queen too would fall soon. In response, Queen Seondeok flew a flaming kite to show that her star was back in the sky. After just ten days, according to the memoirs of a Silla general, Lord Bidam and 30 of his co-conspirators were captured. The rebels were executed by her successor nine days after Queen Seondeoks own death. Other Legends of Clairvoyance and Love In addition to the story of the poppy seeds of her childhood, further legends about Queen Seondeoks predictive abilities have come down through word of mouth and some scattered written records. In one story, a chorus of white frogs appeared in the dead of winter and croaked ceaselessly in the Jade Gate Pond at Yeongmyosa Temple. When Queen Seondeok heard about their untimely emergence from hibernation, she immediately sent 2,000 soldiers to the Womans Root Valley, or Yeogeunguk, west of the capital at Gyeongju, where the Silla troops found and wiped out a force of 500 invaders from neighboring Baekje. Her courtiers asked Queen Seondeok how she knew that the Baekje soldiers would be there and she replied that the frogs represented soldiers, white meant they came from the west, and their appearance at the Jade Gate - a euphemism for female genitalia - told her that the soldiers would be in the Womans Root Valley. Another legend preserves the Silla peoples love for Queen Seondeok. According to this story, a man named  Jigwi  traveled to the Yeongmyosa Temple to see the queen, who was making a visit there. Unfortunately, he was tired out by his journey and fell asleep while waiting for her. Queen Seondeok was touched by his devotion, so she gently placed her bracelet on his chest as a sign of her presence. When  Jigwi  woke up and found the queens bracelet, his heart was so filled with love that it burst into flame and burned down the entire pagoda at Yeongmyosa. Death and Succession One day sometime before her passing, Queen Seondeok gathered her courtiers and announced that she would die on January 17, 647. She asked to be buried in the Tushita Heaven and her courtiers replied that they did not know that location, so she pointed out a place on the side of Nangsan (Wolf Mountain). On exactly the day that she had predicted, Queen Seondeok died and was interred in a tomb on Nangsan. Ten years later, another Silla ruler built Sacheonwangsa  - The Temple of Four Heavenly Kings - down the slope from her tomb. The court later realized that they were fulfilling a final prophecy from Seondeok wherein Buddhist scripture, the Four Heavenly Kings live below the Tushita Heaven on Mount Meru. Queen Seondeok never married or had children. In fact, some versions of the poppy legend suggest that the Tang Emperor was teasing Seondeok about her lack of offspring when he sent the painting of the flowers with no attendant bees or butterflies. As her successor, Seondeok chose her cousin Kim Seung-man, who became Queen Jindeok. The fact that another ruling queen followed immediately after Seondeoks reign proves that she was an able and astute ruler, Lord Bidams protestations notwithstanding. The Silla Kingdom would also boast Koreas third and final female ruler, Queen Jinseong nearly two hundred years later from 887 to 897.

5 Number Problems

5 Number Problems 5 Number Problems 5 Number Problems By Mark Nichol 1. Number Collisions In the sentence â€Å"The day the slain woman was to turn 28, 3,000 gathered at a church to recall her life,† the proximity of her age (assuming it is styled numerically rather than spelled out) and the number of mourners confuses the eye. Readers may assume, before they comprehend the sense of the sentence, that the comma after her age and the following letter space are erroneous and that the digits belong in one figure. If the numerical style for the age is correct, revise the sentence to read, â€Å"The day the slain woman was to turn 28, several thousand people gathered at a church to recall her life.† (This distraction can also occur when a year, a room or building number, or any other numerical designation precedes a figure.) 2. Number Ranges Do not use the word from preceding a number range in which a dash (or, in this case, as employed often in newspapers and online, a hyphen) appears: â€Å"The Korean War lasted from 1950-1953† should read â€Å"The Korean War lasted from 1950 to 1953† or â€Å"The Korean War lasted 1950-1953.† â€Å"The class will be held from 7-10 p.m.† is correctly expressed â€Å"The class will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.† (the first p.m. may be elided) or â€Å"The class will be held 7-10 p.m.† 3. Number Names When you employ specialized terms that include combinations of numbers or numbers and letters, be sure you’re typing them correctly. The term in â€Å"It’s safe to open your 401K statement again† is correctly rendered 401(k). The designation for a certain nonprofit corporation sometimes incorrectly styled 501c3 or 501(c)3 should appear as 501(c)(3). 4. Numbers with Hyphenation I’ve written about hyperhyphenation and hypohyphenation before (search this site for â€Å"hyphens† for more posts on the topic), but these twin troubles persist, so I will, too: Pay attention when using hyphens in phrases involving numbers. No hyphens are necessary in â€Å"The electrified fence is 10-feet-high,† because â€Å"10 feet high† is a simple description, not an adjectival phrase describing a noun that follows immediately (â€Å"10-foot-high electrified fence† is correct). One of those extra hyphens can be donated to the phrase â€Å"21-year old world record,† which refers not to an old world record consisting of 21 years (is that â€Å"old world,† as in â€Å"old-world charm†?), but to a world record that is 21 years old. 5. Numbers and Currency Take care when making references to money: Redundant references such as â€Å"The fine was set at $5 million dollars† or â€Å"I found $100 bucks in an old shoe box† are common. Be consistent in one article or book about whether you use currency symbols or spell the terms out; the determination should be based on the level of formality (currency terms are usually spelled out in more formal writing) weighed against the frequency of occurrence (numerous and/or technical references to money are best presented with symbols). Keep in mind, too, that use of the dollar sign is ubiquitous, but the cent sign is rare, so if reference is made separately to dollars and cents, it’s best to spell out both terms: â€Å"In 1960, the candy bar cost 5 cents; by the beginning of the twenty-first century, it sold for a dollar.† Also, avoid using numerals for orders of magnitude. The figure in â€Å"The binary star is more than 57,000,000,000,000 miles from Earth† is difficult to read, as is the total in â€Å"The budget was 5,666,943,643 dollars.† In the first example, use the term of magnitude: â€Å"The binary star is more than 57 trillion miles from Earth.† Use the same approach for the monetary figure, which is unnecessarily precise; multidigit references to currency are often rounded off at two decimals past the degree of magnitude. â€Å"The budget was 5.66 billion dollars.† Want to improve your English in five minutes a day? Management thories Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words

Management thories - Essay Example This research will explore the contribution of Hofestede to our understanding of the effect of culture to international management practices of organisations. Through utilisation of a huge database of statistics on culture, Hofestede managed to come up with an analysis of the patterns describing the similarities and differences of cultures in five main dimensions. His research focused only on international business managers, which enabled him to come up with a true picture of how culture influences management of international organisations. These five dimensions include power distance, individualism, masculinity, uncertainty and long-term orientation (Smith, Peterson & Schwartz 2002, p. 235). Power distance refers to the level of inequality that prevails among people (Smith, Dugan & Trompenaars 1996, p. 241). This inequality is acceptable by all people, both those with power and those without power. A high power distance society accepts inequality in the distribution of power and the members have a good understanding of their position in the system. With a low power distance society, there are an equal sharing of power and a high dispersion of power. The members in a low power society consider themselves equal. This idea means that in a high power nation such as Malaysia, reports will only reach the topmost managers who will hold meetings in a closed room with only the presence of powerful leaders (Smith, Dugan & Trompenaars 1996, p. 246). Individualism is a reflection of the strength of the relationships possessed by the people concerning others in the entire community. A high level of individualism means that there are no tight connections among them. It also means that there is a low degree of sharing of responsibilities except for family members that can only include the few closest friends. On the other hand, in a society where individualism is low, there is

Quantitative and Qualitative research into the voyeuristic appeal of Paper

Quantitative and Qualitative into the voyeuristic appeal of watching observational reality TV - Research Paper Example Mostly, it is assumed that the audience may not tell the difference between information and entertainment, or reality and fiction in popular factual television. Therefore, in regards of the audience and reality TV it is significant to examine this genre’s development and audience relationships with the popular factual output. Analysis of as new park case study Essay Example for Free

Analysis of as new park case study Essay Analysis of as new park case study Introduction                   The planning process involves developers, communities, engineers, planners, and government. The involvement of all the stakeholders in planning process ensures that a project is positively implemented in the public interests (Carmona, 2010). The new project would commence as an improvement the old city. The old city was widely used by women and children. Although it was developed 30 years ago, it still remained as the best choice for the people living at its vicinity. It formed the best recreation centre for people during warm winter season. The new park would replace the old trees, grass, and build new shades and buildings that would be used to shade people during hot weather. The case involved closed down of the old city for 2 years and relocation of people living around the city to place where there were no social amenities such as schools and recreation centre. The case represents of unethical issues that pertains to urban planning evident through the developers.                   The ethical issues include closure of the city and denying people their recreational facility. The new park development would deny people a chance to enjoy their recreational facilities, which is professionally unethical to a developer. In addition, the developer would be destroying people’s heritage on old trees and grass. The modern buildings would destroy the old trees and grass heritage in the new park. Moreover, it is not ethical to transfer people from their own comfort zone where they enjoyed social amenities such as schools, parks and other infrastructures such other shopping malls to a place where they no longer enjoy the amenities. The act is believed to on self- interests that do not care about other community. In planning process, it is important for planners and developers to consider professional ethics while executing their city planning so that respect between communities and the affected people is maintained (Allen, 2009).                   In this case, the most probable solution would be first to develop the area where the two communities would be relocated before relocating them. It would be most appropriate if the government could start by developing infrastructures such as roads, schools, hospitals, and recreational centres before displacing people in towns if the new park would not be avoidable. On the other hand, a new park could be developed elsewhere and the old one be renovated to maintain national heritage. Moreover, the old park renovation should not be closed for a long period and should developers should allow people to access the park even under constructions. The renovation of the park would ensure that the national heritage on traditional trees and grass would not be destroyed thus maintain it as way of protecting the countries indigenous species. This would ensure that people are not relocated from their original comfort zone. Consequently, development of area that the two communities were transferred would ensure that the communities’ living standards would not be affected except their geographical shift. The move would maintain the respect between the communities, planners, developers and engineers as their lives will not be affected.                   The solution approach where the planners would ensure that all the social amenities are developed before relocation would ensure that the professional code of ethics on the conscious on the right of a third party would be upheld (American Planning Association, 2009). In addition, the code of ethics on fairly dealing with all the people involved in the process will be highly upheld. However, the value of professional code of ethics on heritage will be violated through electing a new park and indigenous trees will be destroyed. The planners will have made sure that the decision making process involves all the party and thus no one would be negatively affected by the new project. Similarly, the second approach of electing the new park elsewhere would ensure professional code of ethics for planners to ensure social justice and responsibility not to disadvantage people would be upheld. This solution would ensure that people are not relocated and at the same t ime the national heritage is maintained. The value of heritage that is attributed to indigenous trees will be upheld while that of excellence design and updated design will be violated (American Planning Association, 2009).                   Both solutions would minimize the negative impacts of the planning in the city. However, the best solution will be to design and construct the new park elsewhere near the old park. The solutions to planning dispute safeguard the rights of the people and the professional ethics of the planners (Staatskoerant, 2011).The old park can only be renovated so that the heritage of the city will be upheld. Similarly, there would be relocation of people to new areas and thus they will be fairly treated and their lives will not be affected. In addition, the solution will ensure that people are not denied their rights to enjoy themselves during winter. Renovation for the old park could be done during summer when people are not using the park so that they would not be limited access during winter. The move will impact positively to people living there and would retain the respect of communities to developers.                   The solution would limit the planners, developers and engineers from implementing their own design and planning of the city. In addition, the people would not have a chance to enjoy a modern facility. However, there would still be a chance for them to construct a new park elsewhere in the city and increase the number of parks. One that would be rich in heritage and there other one would be modern. Although space and area allocation may be a problem, a new park elsewhere would stand out for this case. Conclusion                   In conclusion, it can be noted that planners, developers and engineers should highly consider professional ethics when carrying out new projects that would impact negatively to the public. All planning processes should involve all stakeholders and fair implementation of the project should be considered to avoid unethical issues that are evidenced in the case of new park development. Last Of The Mohicans :: essays research papers

Last of The Mohicans Summary: Cora and her younger sister, Alice, both recent arrivals to the colonies, are being escorted to their father, Colonel Munro, by a troop of British soldiers. Along the way they are ambushed by a Huron war party led by Magua, a sinister warrior with a blood vendetta against Munro. Munro's soldiers are wiped out and Cora herself is nearly killed by Magua but is saved at the last moment by Hawkeye, a white trapper raised by the Mohican tribe. Hawkeye promises to take Cora and her sister safely to their father, and along the way Cora and the intense Hawkeye fall in love. Together they must survive wilderness, war, and the relentless pursuit of Magua. Analysis: The introductory moments are somewhat confusing, and it takes about fifteen or twenty minutes to get the characters and situations straight. Madeleine Stowe's British accent is of the "now-you-hear-it, now-you-don't" variety, although her performance pretty much makes up for this inconsistency. Finally, the photography surrounding the waterfall is unconvincing. Other than those few things the film was great. From beginning to end, there isn't a weak performance. Finally, there's the story, which, while not all that complex, is of epic nature. At first I wasn’t expecting this movie to be good but by the end of the last battle I knew that The Last of the Mohicans is a memorable motion picture adventure, and one of the best films I’ve ever seen. Comparison: In the movie, the siege at Fort William Henry is a concentration of a massive French force on an isolated fort of what seems to be no more than 300 people. Also the siege of the fort by Gen. Montcalm was reduced to one night of action and romance in the film. The great portrayal of traditional siege warfare in the movie serves only as a background for the development of the love between Cora and Nathaniel. In actuality, the seven day siege had two major fronts: the fort which held about 500 men and a camp east to the fort which held roughly 2000 men.

Kerala Essay

Kerala, the ‘God’s Own Country’, lies in the extreme Southern part of India. It has an area of 38863 sq. km and a population of 3. 18 crores. Kochi, or more familiarly, Cochin is a city of many parts. Around for a long, long time, Kochi played a pivotal role in the development of shipping and trade in the region. Kochi’s prime location on the west coast, its fine bay and protected harbor made it popular with seafarers and merchant ships who made frequent stops to stock up on spices, coffee and wood enroute to the rich markets of Europe and West Asia. And so down the ages, Kochi prospered as a busy port city and commercial centre. Its seafront is still extremely relevant to Cochin and to India: it houses a Naval Base and one of India’s busiest ports. It’s twin city, Ernakulam, is an important railhead and industrial centre. Kerala – God’s own Country tagline has been used because of its location, landscaping and its surroundings. It is the amalgamation of lush and tropical Malabar Coast on the west along with verdant backwaters in the centre ranging from Cochin to Kollam and Nilgiri mountain range covered with tea plantations in the east. Kerala†¦ The God’s own country Kerala, meaning â€Å"land of coconut trees†, is one of the relatively well kept secrets of all the exotic destinations in the world. However, Kerala’s popularity has increased over recent years. National Geographic† travel magazine lists Kerala among the fifty must see locations in the world. Not surpirisingly, the State Tourism Department promotes Kerala’s natural beauty, breathtaking lush landscape and tropical beaches as â€Å"God’s own country†. The result has been a signifiant influx of tourists and foreign visitors. The Sanskrit saying â€Å"athithi devo bhava†( treat your guest like God, with respect and honour) is ingrained in the collective ethos of the people of Kerala.

All Pro Workout Faq

BASIC POINTS THAT PEOPLE KEEP MISSING: The program uses STIFF LEG DEAD LIFTS! It does not use dead lifts! There are TWO warm-up sets and TWO work sets making FOUR sets per exercise in total! You will start with EIGHT reps of your ten rep max weight! Not ten. This program splits gains between strength and size. You increase the reps every week, you do not increase the weights until completing a 5 week cycle. STARTING WEIGHT What weight should I start with? The correct starting weight is about a 10 rep max (75% of your 1 rep maximum). If that happens to be 150 pounds then the first set would be 35 pounds and the second set would be 75 pounds. Then 2 work sets at 150 pounds. WHEN IN DOUBT START LIGHT! Do I use the same weight for every exercise? NO! Each exercise will be different. REPLACEMENT EXERCISES (These should ONLY to be used if an injury prevents you doing one of the recommended ones! ) Squat: You can sub leg presses or dumbbell squats but they suck compared to what barbell squat s can do. Doing squats even with a very low weight is preferable to any other exercise. Bench Press: ?Overhead Press: Tricep press and standing rows. SLDL: Weighted hyper extensions and hamstring curls. . GENERAL WORKOUT QUESTIONS I’m very weak. Would it be wise to build some strength before doing this program? Nope. This program was designed with YOU in mind. Does this program optimise strength gains? This program will split the gains between size and strength. For more strength or if you’re training for power for a sport I'd use Bill Starr's 5Ãâ€"5. Do I do all 7 exercises every day or split them up into 3 days? You do all 7 exercises 3 times per weekCan I change the order of the exercises? The first four exercises should be done in the order I listed them. Do all of the squats then all of the bench presses and so forth. I didn't put it together to be supersetted or run in a circuit. I could have but then it wouldn't be a ‘SIMPLE' beginners program. If I'm sti ll sore, do I need to wait another day to work out? No, in fact after the medium work out you'll feel better and after the light work out you'll feel better still. Can an increase the number of reps if I get the desired number rather than wait until the next week? No!The reason for the â€Å"easy† weeks will become apparent when you repeat the cycle. It has a built in deload. By increasing the reps sooner you will stall sooner. That means your gains will be cut short because you'll have to deload to get out of it. Can I use regular deadlifts instead of stiff-leg deadlifts? DO NOT USE REGULAR DEAD LIFTS WITH THIS PROGRAM! The combination of heavy dead lifts and heavy squats in the same work out is a recipe for disaster. The stiff leg dead lifts are there to work lower back and ham strings with 1 exercise rather than splitting them up and adding more volume to the work out.How long should I take between sets? You need to rest for a minute and a half between the work sets. It ta kes about 3 minutes for ATP levels to be restored to 100%. In about 2 minutes they're at about 90%. This program is using a combination of ATP and glycogen as a fuel source that's why I choose the 1:30 rest. My usual routine is to do my first warm up set, change the weight and rest 30 seconds. I'll do my second warm up set, change the weight and rest 1 minute. Do the first work set and for this program rest a minute and a half. Can I add other exercises in at the end of my workout?Try the workout as it is first. Give it a chance. But you may add ONE set of pull overs or stiff armed pull downs or pull ups/chin ups. Follow the rep scheme and the heavy, medium, light set up. If that seems to be working well after a 5 week cycle then add the second set. Why can’t I just do 3 heavy workouts in a week instead of heavy, medium and light? Without the heavy, medium, light set-up you will peak out sooner and stall sooner. Google dual factor programming and you'll understand better. Suf fice it to say that with insufficient rest and recovery the program will stall.I couldn't squeeze out all of my reps for curls on the last week. Does that mean I have to keep the weight for every exercise the same for my next cycle? No! Add weight to every exercise that you pass. In the above exercise, everything would move forward but the curls. How long should I keep doing this work out? Simply keep going until you stop progressing with it. Do I need to do the warm-ups? You need the warm up sets for squats, bench press, military press and bent over rows. Warm ups for the other three are recommended but can be cut to save time.CARDIO AND ABS How much cardio should I do? With a 3 times per week full body program you won’t need more than 2 hours of cardio total for the week. If you want to bulk then do much less. Break it up however you want but don't do it before weight training. Do it on off days or after weight training. When should I do cardio? Do it on off days or after w eight training. What sort of cardio should I do? I use HIIT. High intensity interval training. That's just a series of all out sprints and mobility drills. I use a 40 minute, 30 minute and 20 minute set up.The problem with slow cardio is that you are encouraging the fast and medium fibres that you are weight training to convert to a slower type. It can be vary frustrating if that happens. What ab work should I do? It's a matter of what kind of equipment you have and what you respond to. Pull overs, pull downs and knee ups work for me. Crunches, even weighted crunches weren't as effective for me. Typically I use 1 set of 10-20 reps. In other words I use a periodized set up for them also. So starting from work out 1, 10, work out 2, 15, work out 3, 20. Add weight if I can get them all.Usually just 5 pounds. Or repeat the cycle if I can't get them all. Some people need more volume then what I use but I would start with 1 set and do them last or on off days. USING DUMBELLS Can you use d umbbells instead? If you have adjustable dumbbells so that you can get the correct weight then that's fine. The only problem with dumb bells happens when you can't adjust the weight or when you don't have 1 1/4 pound plates. Except for squats. Dumbbells won’t work well with squats because your grip will give out when you progress to heavier weights. Can I do seated shoulder press instead? If possible you should do it standing. In the case of a low ceiling or your gym not allowing it then doing it seated is fine. DIET AND SUPPLEMENTS What supplements should I use? Don't waste a small fortune on magic beans. Get a good diet plan set up and add fish oil, multi mineral/ multi vitamin, creatine and a simple, basic protein powder. Start with simple basic stuff and add things as you go being careful to keep track of what's working for you and what isn't. Should I use protein shakes? Protein shakes are a quick, convenient source of nutrition and you know exactly what you're getting.Th ey are NOT required but I would highly recommend using them post work out. 40 grams of protein and 40 grams of carbs within an hour of completing the work out. Is this routine suitable for cutting? Yes! It works well on a cut because it's self correcting. If you lose too much strength during the cut the worst that happens is that you have to repeat the cycle a time or 2 with the same weight. How much should I eat? This depends on your goals. Total calories: To gain weight: multiply body weight in lbs by 20 To maintain weight: body weight x 15 To lose weight: body weight x 10E. g. if you weigh 200lbs you should aim for 3000 calories per day to maintain that weight. 40% protein, 40% carbohydrate, 20% fat Will this routine work at all for someone training a number of years? It isn't that it won’t work at all†¦ because it will. But the rate of progression would have to be slowed down. After a while you won’t be able to increase by 10% every 5 weeks. At the very least you'd have to reduce that to 5% and drop it to twice per week with 2 heavy work outs. Your recovery doesn't improve as fast as your ability to do damage.

Othello by Julious Lester

The novel Othello by Julious Lester is one of the most interesting love stories I have ever read. Iago the greatest villain of all times plays with the red handkerchief to ruin and sometimes determine love for people. Othello loves his red handkerchief and gives it to Desdemona to have as a symbolism of love for them. Desdemona takes the handkerchief and puts it in her blouse. Othello has a headache when he gets home so Desdemona puts the red handkerchief to his head to make him feel better. Othello pushes away her hand and she drops the handkerchief. Later Emily sees the handkerchief and picks it up knowing it is Desdemonas. When Emily goes home Iago sees she has the handkerchief and asks her for it and tell her he will give it to Othello. Iago being the villain that he is takes the handkerchief and puts it next to Michael Casios head. When he wakes he notices the handkerchief and wonders how it got there but he just puts it in his pocket. Michael is waiting in the garden for Desdemona but Instead of Desdemona showing up Belinda shows up. She goes to hug him and she sees the handkerchief, she takes the handkerchief from him and asks him where he got the handkerchief. Michael swears he has no idea how he got it. Belinda takes the handkerchief and puts it next to her bosom. Othello thinks Desdemona is cheating on him so he goes to look for some proof of it. Othello is walking through the courtyard when he sees Belinda with the handkerchief hanging out her shirt. He goes up to her puts his hands around his neck and asks her where she got the handkerchief that belong to his beloved Desdemona. Belinda thinks it was Desdemonas then Michael Casio deserves to get in trouble for it, since he lied to me. Othello thinks to himself that if she got it from Michael Casio then Desdemona must have given it to Michael. He now thinks Desdemona has bean cheating in him. Othello feels that he is weak and h...

Immersion Program Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Immersion Program - Essay Example The first lesson learned was that language taught in a meaningful context is acquired much easier and more completely than language taught in isolation from other subjects. Rather than focusing attention on the academically correct grammar and syntax of the language, the lesson learned here was that language taught with a focus on meaningful communication between and among students and teachers is much more successful than language focused on academic proficiency. In addition, by placing the language instruction in the context of other academic pursuits, the main focus on learning is not placed as severely on the language acquisition itself, but on the academic subject matter, with language acquisition merely a part of communicating information about this subject with the teacher and with other students. By taking the pressure and focus off of the language itself, it becomes less of a burden to students and more of a challenge to accomplish. In addition, this context provides stimula tion and encouragement for students to learn more about the language as a means of communicating more about the subject involved. A second lesson learned through the research was that while comprehension among immersion students was far higher than that among students taught in isolation, the speaking and writing skills of these students remained at a much lower level than those of native speakers of the language. The study theorized that the reason for this shortfall was due to the lack of actual language use by the students while participating in their classes, often responding to questions posed by the teacher rather than formulating their own ideas in the second language. This hypothesis was backed up with discussion from various other studies that have been conducted all seeming to reach the same conclusion. This reveals the importance of providing ample opportunity
